Children’s Planetarium Shows at Tampa Museum
While many people who visit Tampa are attracted to the great beaches and the city’s nightlife, others are attracted to a different sort of beautiful view that is also associated with the nightlife, or should I say night sky. Tampa’s Museum of Science and Industry introduced its newly upgrade planetarium almost two years ago and it is one of the facilities main attractions. It even has fans from outside the city and surrounding area and many of the people staying in some of Tampa’s finest hotels ask for transportation and admission information to this museum.
The planetarium is included in the children’s museum features and is extremely popular with the kids as well as with adults. There are a few different programs that are appropriate for viewing by children who are seven years of age or older. These include the show called Tonight’s Sky and the Children’s Laser Show . Tonight’s Sky is an interactive live presentation of the goings on of the night sky. It changes on a daily basis and deals with the actual circumstances of that evening’s sky. The laser show is one of a kind and is twenty minutes of complete educational fun. The dynamic presentation includes a description of the Greek story of the stars. Both of these shows are free with museum admission.
Other programs and laser shows presented by the planetarium are intended more for adult audiences. Pink Floyd’s The Wall and The Dark Side of the Moon are two of the extremely popular laser shows with any planetarium and were on the Second Saturday’s schedule last January. Beatles, Metallica and Led Zeppelin are other incredibly dynamic and popular shows that have been on the schedule in Tampa. You can check with the MOAS for information on current programs and planetarium schedules.
