When looking for a city in which to live, TransGlobe Property Management will assist you in finding the perfect location to set up hearth and home.  I grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and the city does not lend itself to a feeling of belonging nor community.  Relationships are transient as people move in and move out, and I was looking for something a bit more real, a bit more stable in the vibe.  I visited a friend who lived in Toronto, Canada one summer and it was then that I decided to make the move.  First off, we hit the Rogers Picnic, which is much more than cold fried chicken and potato salad.  It is a music festival of the most dynamic energy.  The line-up for the show was outstanding with the Buzz Kings, the Tokyo Police Club, and the Born Ruffians heading up the bill.  The night was fantastic and I could not imagine that anything would top it…but then, send in the Beaches Jazz Festival.  Music.  It is the defining moment of summer.

When I drive around in my car now, I remember the songs that I first heard when the wind coming through the windows was warm and my skin had the warm summer glow.  This what the Jazz festival in Toronto represents.  This particular festival has been going on for just over twenty years, with vendors and businesses managed by TransGlobe Property Management, all partaking in the celebrations and the fun.  I found in Toronto, what I had been missing in the States.  At least in the cities I had lived in, which is a sense of belonging and community.  A sense of the fact that “yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus”…in other words, yes Tiffinie there are people who live not only for themselves, but for each other as well.  I will always remember my first trip to Toronto, and now that I have found a home here, I will never forget just what that means.

For years, whenever I’d make a trip to Los Angeles, there was one thing I made sure to do: Take a trip to the Griffiths Park Observatory and attend a Laserium show in the planetarium.  The laser light show made its home there beginning in 1973, thirty-seven years ago, and was a permanent fixture for things to do in L.A., until 2002.  Whenever guests from out of town came in, whether they were staying with me on the cheap or at the best Los Angeles hotel they would ask to see the show, but for the last seven years they were disappointed.  I’d hear rumors that they were performing out in Long Beach in the dome where Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose was once kept, but that never seemed to materialize.  However, since June, the laserium light show has returned to a permanent home — not at the observatory, but in the heart of Hollywood at the Vine Theater, a 1937 movie house.

The new theater venue allows the laserium to put on more elaborate and dimensional programs than before.  In the Observatory, they were limited to 2-D; but the new theater will feature 3-D effects with the beams, starting from the theater screen and then expanding into the room itself on transparent scrims, on six high definition screens.

One of the great pleasures of the last few decades was to go to the planetarium, lean back in those seats, hear great music (often Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and Pink Floyd),such as Dark Side of the Moon, and see whirling laser beams take form on the curved ceiling, becoming geometric shapes, and then, what appeared to be images.  A fantastic way to spend forty five minutes.  It’s with great relief that I’ve found the show is back and even closer than before.

The draw of Singapore has components that are both obvious and mysterious.  There are many different sides and layers to this exquisite city state that can’t be seen on a first visit, and some on even a tenth visit.  It has pockets of cultures that are old and new, and some cultures seem to form overnight. One of the most exciting things about Singapore, in fact, is the speed at which the people who live here sometimes take to new trends and world developments.  This is evident both in the entertainment, and the restaurant life in Singapore.  Food guides the energy of the place.

It has always been that way, or at least for as long as anyone can remember.  There is a brilliant legacy from its past as a major port during the spice trade, and that is the development of some fantastic world class cuisines.  Some of the best foods in the world find their greatest expression in Singapore’s restaurants.  It is a fascinating thing, to be able to try Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Malay, and Italian food here any night of the week.  The recipes are simply superb, and show off the great training and knowledge of the chefs, some of whom are internationally recognized.

It does not take long to find your way around the tourist spots in Singapore, where many of the great restaurants are found.  But for some of the more out of the way places, it’s a good idea to ask around and get a good sense of the neighborhood before exploring.  And there are many areas, such as Little India, that are worth spending a lot of time getting to know, because there is so much more going on than the culinary culture, although this is a fantastic part of it.  You never know when you might stumble across a house turned into a Buddhist museum, or a place where you can drink a lovely tea, and while away the afternoon.

Andy Murray is a Scottish tennis star who has gained international attention for his playing as well as for a couple of his on court behaviors. He is a dynamic player who will be interesting to watch as his career develops and see where he goes in the future. Since having turned pro in 2005 Murray has already played well in major tennis championships tournaments such as Wimbledon, The US Open and the Davis cup. His first year playing pro Murray won the prestigious Scottish award BBC Scotland Sports Personality of the Year. His brother Jamie is also a professional tennis player who plays in the doubles circuit. Both of the boys began playing the game before they were six years old and showed early promise for success in the sport. One of the marks of a great player is the ability to perform difficult swiftrank recovery maneuvers on the court while they are behind.

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and for many players it is also the most prestigious. Since 1877 the tournament has taken place at the All England Club, which is in the London suburb of Wimbledon. It is one of only four grand slam tennis tournaments and is still played on grass, which was its original surface. It is the only tournament played on grass and is responsible for game of lawn tennis. It occurs in June and early July of every year and takes place over the course of two weeks. There are five major events that are contested during the tournament each year. This grand event has various traditions associated with it and one of the more popular is eating strawberries with cream and drinking Pimms spritzers. Players are to assume a professional attitude and wear appropriate attire during the event. Murray gained entry into Wimbledon his first year as a professional by being awarded the wildcard.

Jake and Madeline were married almost a year when they decided to make special plans for their first wedding anniversary. They had experienced some unexpected troubles during their first year as well as part of the actual wedding day and honeymoon that caused them to want to make a particularly special occasion of their first anniversary. As it turned out they were unable to take much of a honeymoon immediately after their wedding and instead spent four nights in one of the local five star resorts. This was nice and they had a great time though they had really wanted to get out of town for a while. They were both relatively easy to please and didn’t need a fancy world traveling trip or luxurious month in the Tuscan Hills though they did want to spend some quality time away from their daily environment. And their first anniversary was the perfect time to do it.

The couple decided on a great little bed and breakfast in Arizona were eagerly awaiting their trip. They intended to take some time and go to the Grand Canyon and also wanted to relax and enjoy each other’s company without the pressure of going anywhere or doing anything. As it turned out they could not have made a better choice in accommodations. The bed and breakfast in which they stayed had a large main room with a beautiful fireplace. It had a great private balcony with fabulous views and even a cozy downstairs piano bar where many of the guests spent part of their evening. This also attracted other people from the area as the piano bar was open to the public though it was also the place where private breakfasts for the guests was served. However, the feature of this bed and breakfast that both Madeline and Jake loved the most was the private garden area that was designated for each room and included 2 person hot tubs. They spent time in their tub every night and also before breakfast every morning. This was definitely the dream anniversary they had wanted.

There are always new and exciting things to see and do in Singapore, and visitors will be treated to surprising delights whether it’s the first visit or one of many repeated stays in this remarkable place.  Neither a city nor a state, but both at once, Singapore is an unusual island with a fantastic culture.  Or it might be better to say that it’s many cultures, because there are influences from the Malay, Chinese, and Indian populations, as well as many others.  This is absolutely reflected in the food, making it one of the most exciting places to visit for pleasing anyone’s culinary curiosities.  Of course, there are tremendous offerings for all these types of food, but there seems to be a particularly amazing number of chefs who specialize in Japanese cooking, based on the excellent Japanese restaurants in Singapore.

This might have something to do with the ready supply of fresh seafood, among many other fresh ingredients available in this major trading port.  Japanese culture in general is very strong and visible here, as evidenced by the arts and culture, and it’s a particularly exciting place to find some of the most fascinating new art works from Japanese artists.  This made Singapore a perfect choice for the Japan Media Arts Festival in December of 2008.  This amazing festival is an annual event, and changes locations each year, so it was particularly exciting to see it here.

The focus on art, media, and communication is one that offered a splendid way for visitors to engage in some of the most essential issues in world art today.  It also offered a fantastic chance to see some of the most interesting and innovative work in the world.  The level of technology was very high, where artists presented many interactive works that viewers could participate in, making for a fun and vibrant way to explore the world that the artists see and reflect.  Digital art, manga, and other exciting forms were featured, as they usually are for the Japan Media Arts Festival, and this festival was one that offered a particularly local context to the work that was essential for artists as well as for the citizens of Singapore.

The Capital of the Province of Flemish Brabant, in the Flemish Region is Leuven, Belgium. The largest brewer, Anheuser Busch InBev is located here. Located on the Dijle River, Leuven has always been a major hub for trade and commerce, coming and going. Earliest mention of this ancient city is 891 and it was active back then. Over the centuries, Leuven maintained its reputation of being the center or hub of these parts. And, over the centuries, commerce has thrived and grown, solidly building a strong economic base. Many notable inventions have come from here. Charles Moisson, a local engineer projected films as early as 1895 using a cinematograph, which was invented by the Lumiere brothers. The Lemmens Institute, one of Belgium’s most prestigious conservatories is located in Leuven. Another establishment that is known the world over is the glass factory, Theys and Miseur, makers of some of the finest glass art in the world. This city is also proud of the art and music festivals, the museums and churches, it has sports and fine colleges, the architecture in the ancient buildings is incredible. You have to see the castles and chapels, and the artwork within.

Leuven hotels also display this fine architecture, both outside and in. When you step into the lobby, you will be transported back in time as you take in the beautiful workmanship found in these buildings and the exquisite art and other items lending to the décor. Allow yourself to be pampered and tended to by the polite and friendly staff, well trained to attend to your needs. And be assured, they will be well informed to direct you to a favorite tourist site or a lively nightclub. Enjoy the vibrant music and dance till the wee hours. And don’t forget to satisfy the hunger pangs with local cuisine. Leuven is a fascinating city so enjoy every minute.

It can be one of the most exciting major home purchases when a couple or family decides that it is time to install a hot tub in their backyard. This is frequently a decision that triggers a whole series of purchases and design considerations for what ultimately may become an entirely new backyard. This is due in part to the fact that hot tubs have become extremely diverse in features, designs, accessories and options. They are also more technologically advanced than what many consumers as recently as a decade ago could have imagined. They are also more economical, which means that more money can be invested into other elements of a backyard that become attractive once the tub itself has been decided on.

One of the most common backyard features associated with a hot tub is a great deck design. Generally wood decks are installed around a hot tub though there are other options available. Vince had never been to New York when his good friend Mike asked him to join him for a week’s getaway. Vince agreed since he was usually up for anything thought he wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this major American City. Mike’s old roommate from college lived in Brooklyn and he would visit him at least once a year. Since Vince and Mike both enjoyed going to Major League Basketball games together he thought it would be nice to catch a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. As soon as he mentioned basketball Vince was in, though he was a die-hard SuperSonics fan, he loved to see any game live.

The two stayed in a New York USA hotel and met Mike’s former roommate Joe the next day. Vince wasn’t sure what all he would like to do or see so Joe suggested they visit the Brooklyn Museum, which is the second largest art museum in New York City. Since Vince had only heard of the Met he thought it would be interesting to visit this one. They went to the museum that afternoon after grabbing some fish and chips at the Chip Shop.

Vince was really impressed with the museum once they arrived there. He only had the Knicks and basketball on his mind since he sat down in the plane, and really wasn’t expecting to encounter any cultural elements like the Brooklyn Museum. He really didn’t realize there was much more to New York than Broadway, but was pleasantly surprised. He was really impressed with the permanent collection and though he would admit that he’s not that educated about art, he knew enough to know what he liked and why. He was particularly interested in the Art of the Americas collection.
